CSB（Computational Systems Bioinformatics ）http://www.lifesciencessociety.org/CSB2007/ In 2001 a few scientists turned conference planners organized the first Computational Systems Bioinformatics (CSB) conference at Stanford, CA and continued at Stanford over the next 5 years.

GIW（International Conference on Genome Informatics） http://giw.ims.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ The First GIW was held at Kikai Shinko Kaikan, Tokyo during December 3-4, 1990 as an open workshop just before the Japanese Human Genome Project started in 1991. Thus it has a history of twelve years. Since 1993, GIW changed to an international conference and Genome Informatics Series has been published from Universal Academy Press, Inc. ( http://www.uap.co.jp/uap/Publication/SERIES/GIS/) Here is the history of GIW. GIW 2000 had more than 500 participants and it is no longer a "workshop". From 2001, the first year of 21st Century, the name of this annual meeting is changed to "International Conference on Genome Informatics" while keeping GIW as its nickname because the name GIW has well-settled in the community.

APBC-Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference http://www.cs.hku.hk/apbc2007/ The Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference series is an annual forum for exploring research, development and novel applications of Bioinformatics. The Fifth Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference, APBC2007, will be held in Hong Kong.

ISMB (Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology) http://www.iscb.org/ismb2008/-The ISMB conferences began in 1993 and were the driving force behind the founding of the International Society for Computational Biology (www.iscb.org) in 1997, which has been organizing this conference ever since. ISCB is the only society representing computational biology on a worldwide scale and its flagship conference ISMB has become the largest conference on computational biology worldwide. ISCB continues to see ISMB as its major flagship annual event.
